Who are your Long-Term Planners ? - Is a statement that remains to be tested that the effectiveness of the planning process in directly related to the quality and quantity of work done by managers who make plans. As in the thinking strategic planning used to be considered as upper-level management responsibilities only.
Now assuming it is not true anymore. Almost every manager in the organization must be look far ahead beyond the present if organizations are to remain competitive. Although the future of the organization as a whole is directed by the senior management team, managers in throughout the organization will play an important role in determining the position future that will be achieved.
